Dr. Karley-Dale Talbot
Karley-Dale Talbot, Ph.D., R. Psych. is a registered psychologist (CHPBC #2689) with advanced training in clinical psychology and neuropsychology. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Neuropsychology from the University of Victoria in 2020, completing her pre-doctoral residency at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, and later completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at BC Children’s Hospital in 2022.
Dr. Talbot has worked in both public and private health settings and has extensive experience conducting comprehensive psychological, neuropsychological, and psychoeducational assessments, including assessments for Complex Developmental and Behavioural Conditions (CDBC), Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD*). She works both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
At North Shore Neuropsychology, Dr. Talbot provides trauma-informed and culturally sensitive neuropsychological, psychological, and diagnostic ASD assessments for children, adolescents, and adults (approximately ages 4–55). Her assessments examine intellectual, language, attention, executive functioning, memory, visual-perceptual, fine motor, academic, behavioural, and emotional functioning. She has extensive experience assessing individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g., ADHD, learning disorders, intellectual disabilities, and giftedness), developmental trauma, neurological disorders, and acquired or traumatic brain injuries. Her assessments support timely diagnosis and clarify strengths and challenges while translating complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations for families, physicians, educators, and community care teams to guide home, school, work, and treatment planning.
Dr. Talbot previously worked as a part-time staff psychologist on the Acute Rehabilitation Unit at Sunny Hill Health Centre, where she monitored cognitive recovery following moderate to severe brain injury, supported and educated families, and completed discharge assessments to guide school and community transition planning. She also provided short-term therapy to patients and families adjusting to brain injury, intensive rehabilitation, and prolonged hospital stays.
She is passionate about helping individuals and families understand changes related to brain injury and other neurological or psychological conditions. Dr. Talbot takes time to explain assessment results in clear, accessible language and believes that understanding the “why” behind difficulties is a critical step toward effective support and growth.
In addition to assessment services, Dr. Talbot offers private therapy for children, adolescents, adults, and families. She supports individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, developmental trauma, adjustment to illness or injury, and functional neurological or somatic symptom disorders. Her therapeutic approach is compassionate, collaborative, and focused on helping clients feel understood, supported, and empowered. She also provides parent coaching and family therapy to strengthen relationships and support children’s emotional and behavioural wellbeing.
Alongside her clinical work, Dr. Talbot has an active background in research, teaching, and supervision. Her research has focused on prospective memory, executive functioning, and neurodevelopmental disorders, and she has published and presented her work internationally. She has supervised psychology trainees and provided consultation at hospital and regulatory levels. Dr. Talbot is committed to excellence in assessment and therapy, collaborative care, and supporting individuals and families as they navigate the cognitive, emotional, and psychological impacts of neurological and medical conditions.
*Currently offering ASD assessments for individuals over 6 years of age with basic verbal skills.
