Dr. Karley-Dale Talbot

Karley-Dale Talbot, Ph.D., R. Psych., is a registered psychologist who practices in clinical neuropsychology. She completed a Ph.D. in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Victoria in 2020, which included a pre-doctoral residency in neuropsychology at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Ottawa. She also completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at BC Children’s Hospital in 2022. Dr. Talbot has worked in both private and public health settings. She has experience working independently as well as on multidisciplinary teams completing comprehensive psychological, neuropsychological, and psychoeducational (including Complex Developmental and Behavioural Conditions [CDBC] and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder [FASD]) assessments.

Dr. Talbot is currently on staff at Sunny Hill Health Centre’s Acute Rehabilitation Unit where she works part-time on a multidisciplinary treatment team. There, she monitors patients’ cognitive recovery following moderate to severe brain injuries and provides families with education about what to expect in the early stages of brain injury recovery. At the time of discharge, she then assesses patients’ general cognitive functioning and provides recommendations to school and community partners to help with transition planning. In addition, she provides short-term mental health therapy to patients and their families who are having difficulties coping with the new injury, intensive rehabilitation, and/or extended hospital stay.

At North Shore Neuropsychology, Dr. Talbot conducts private neuropsychological assessments with individuals (3 to 55 years old) who present with a variety of neurological or psychological conditions affecting cognition, learning, behaviour, and/or mood. She also provides consultative and assessment services to children and youth with developmental disabilities and/or complex trauma histories in multiple northern and remote Indigenous communities. Dr. Talbot is passionate about providing trauma-informed services. She works closely with individuals, families, schools, and community care teams to help them better understand the individual’s unique cognitive and learning strengths and support needs.
